Anyway Hero Girl is finally winning in the polls ( dkstudios05.deviantart.com/jou… ) and maybe pulling an upset on a tough opponent so this comic helps explain a big part of her transformation from jobber to ass-kicker a bit. She is an anime heroine pretty much so this is where she gets like a ton of levels and overcomes challenge with heart etc. etc.

BTW guys please, if it does not pain or inconvenience you too much, vote for "angels" on the "ROUND X (You decide who wins)" polls DKS is doing. For great justice!

So the story is actually evident in the work so I'm just gonna do some random commentary for reasons...

YES, it goes Right to left, kinda like manga. Just in case, the "Round X's" are there to assist anyone who gets lost

PANEL 1: So yeah this is basically a prime example of what Daniel does, getting hired to help boxers tighten their game because he just happens to have a set of qualities perfect in a pro sparring partner (amazing durability and stamina, moderate power, fight's clean etc). He always double checks they want to go full throttle before he prepares to deliver a very good challenge. Natalie is Hero Girl's name and before the match starts she would likely see Daniel doing some extreme stretches and closing his eyes for a few moments before meeting her to touch gloves with a smile on his face.

PANEL 2 (ROUND 2): Daniel doesn't like to win just because his opponent makes obvious mistakes. He is an intelligent fighter and can spot openings very well. He probly spotted and exploited one in Natalie for a few good hits before being gracious and basically telling her she was getting predictable and a bit clumsy.

PANEL 3: Ok I admit this text may brag too much, Daniel actually could be angered and get cruel. It's very very rare but not unprecedented. But yeah he fights clean and is a bit more generous than most with clinches because he is very defensive and likes to conserve stamina. You'll never see Daniel smiling after knocking someone down, he is 100% strategic so he just focuses on resting every time and barely pays attention to them. He's basically doing a very 'light' standing meditation to recover his stamina.

PANEL 4-5: So yeah opponents that don't have insane punching power will often end up in a long war of attrition with Daniel if they want to stand a chance of winning. He doesn't have many openings and won't wear down from out-boxing so they have to just keep at it and start mutual punching trades. Yes the outcome of this is up to the viewer. Hero Girl is a protagonist in a comic kinda like 'punch-out' so the 'player's' skill determines the outcome pretty much. Hopefully now Natalie will start getting more wins. The only certainty of the match's end is that Daniel will be very friendly and gracious so he'll make frivals easily with similar minded characters.
